At the end of a dream, sometimes you wake up. When the dream ends in a way that you don’t like, you try to put yourself back to sleep to change the outcome of that dream. Rarely is anyone successful at this.
This is a lot like life, except maybe you might actually have a bit more control over the outcomes. Although sometimes it doesn’t feel like it.
What is it about your life and where you see it heading, that you want to try to change? What is stopping you from putting yourself back to sleep to alter the result? Is it the possibility of failure that consumes you? Are you so caught up in your current way that you can’t see alternatives?
Feeling “stuck” or out of options can be limiting enough. Add a potentially life-threatening disease to the mix – you really start to feel the world closing in on you. What if you were told that the number of days you have left might be significantly less than what you initially thought? Panic would certainly ensue.
Our thoughts, fears, and anxieties can be incredibly debilitating, diminishing any hope for our dreams to even be realized, let alone, set in motion. These murky waters of insecurity diminish clarity of dreams not yet developed. When you’re wading through all this against the ticking of a timer, the urgency clouds you further.
Quickly. Where do you want your dreams to take you? Where do you want your dreams to go? Adjust your route . Go back to sleep. Open your eyes through the haze of uncertainty. Seek out any trace of clarity or opportunity that will propel you toward growth and rehabilitation. Try to manipulate your dreams in to the direction you desire. And when you do, don’t forget to use your heart as your navigation.
